Fascination Between Skyline and Waterfront
Located in the industrial environment of a traditional Frankfurt inland port, one of the most exciting urban development projects was created during the reconstruction of the western port area on the banks of the Main.
The new city district on the Western Harbour Pier containing houses, shops, restaurants and a waterfront event location with a fully glazed frontage is noteworthy for its striking architecture.
The building complex designed by the Frankfurt architects Schneider + Schumacher dominates the riverside skyline.
The striking facade made from Novelis J57S® anodized aluminum is particularly impressive. The structure fans out along the river’s edge and has spectacular views over the Main.
The renowned facade company EBENER installed 12,000 square meters of 2mm thick anodized aluminum sheet for the Western Harbour Pier construction. In addition, 3,000 square meters were used for the roof cladding.
